Biography
Dr. Martin Fischer, member of the Board of Management of ZF Group, is responsible for the Group’s Active Safety Division, Passive Safety Systems Division, and Electronics and ADAS Division, as well as regions North America and South America and Corporate Quality. Based at ZF’s North American headquarters in Livonia, Michigan, Fischer has worked with major automotive suppliers for around two decades, many years of which were also spent in the U.S. During this time, he held responsibility for a wide variety of automotive domains and systems, including body electronics, chassis electronics, driver assist systems, safety systems and conventional and electrified powertrain systems. Fischer begain his career at Siemens Automotive in 1998. He then joined automotive supplier Hella in 2006, holding a range of top management roles. From 2014 until 2019 he worked with BorgWarner Inc. both in Germany and in the U.S. Fischer studied electrical engineering at the Technical University in Darmstadt and at the University of California at Berkeley. He received his PhD in 1999.
