Biography

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dipl.-Wirt.-Ing. Heiner Hans Heimes studied both mechanical engineering (with a focus on production engineering) and economics at RWTH Aachen University. From 2010 to 2014, he was a research associate at the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of RWTH Aachen, and in 2014 he received his PhD. He then led the "Battery Production" group at the newly founded Chair of PEM of RWTH Aachen University, where he was a chief engineer from 2015 to 2019 and as such headed the university's Electromobility Laboratory (eLab). From March 2019 to 2023, he was PEM's Executive Chief Engineer before being appointed Professor.
