Biography

Björn Bender is Head of Innovation, Research and Incubation at Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). He has been anchored in the mobility industry for almost 20 years and has held leading positions in large, national transport companies for 11 years. Prior to SBB, he was responsible for the New Mobility topics of Deutsche Bahn Connect as VicePresident Sales until the beginning of 2019. There, he played a leading role in the development of integrated or inter- and multimodal mobility products for B2B/C/G and steered products from the fleet management, carsharing, bikesharing, ridesharing and mobility consulting areas. Before that, he spent six years in Vienna and Milan as Director Eastern Europe & Austria and later as Director Southern Europe for the passenger transport division of Deutsche Bahn. Björn Bender studied business administration with a focus on transport and started his professional career in the aviation industry with South African Airways.
